BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Real Time Control Engineer for an opportunity in Spring Valley, NY!

Position Title: Real Time Control Engineer

Location: Spring Valley, NY

Expected Duration: 12 months (potential extension)

Job Type: Fulltime 40hr/week, Hybrid

Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

• Must-have skills: RTAC Programming experience, Distribution Automation experience, DNP protocol
• Proven experience programming SEL RTAC devices.
• Strong understanding of DNP and other industrial communication protocols.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems and architectures.
• Solid grasp of distribution automation concepts.
• Experience with 4G to OT (Operational Technology) network integration is a plus.

  Job Description:

• Test 4G modem connectivity with SEL RTAC (Real-Time Automation Controller) equipment.
• Configure and Integrate SEL RTAC with field devices including:
• Field Regulator Controllers
• MOAB (Motor-Operated Air Break) Controllers
• Capacitor Bank Controllers
• Set up and commission Sentient Fault Location Sensors.
• Configure and test DER (Distributed Energy Resource) inverters in a lab setting.
• Assist with documentation efforts including design specifications, test reports, and configuration records.
