Automation Test EngineerBCforward is currently seeking highly motivated Applied Automation Test Engineer in Houston, TX!
Position Title: Automation Test Engineer
Location: Houston, TX Anticipated Start Date: ASAP
PXlease note this is the target date and is subject to change. BCForward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date.
Expected Duration: 6 Months with possibilities for extension
Job Type: Contract: 40 hrs/week
Pay Range: $40 to $42/hr on W2Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
*Design, develop, and enhance automation frameworks using TestComplete (for Web, Desktop, and Mobile).
*Develop robust and reusable test scripts using JavaScript, VBScript, or Python within TestComplete.
*Collaborate with development teams to understand application logic and align automation coverage.
*Perform functional, regression, and integration automation testing.
*Integrate automated tests within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar).
*Work with Cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., BrowserStack, LambdaTest) for cross-browser and cross-device validation.
*Apply shift-left testing practices to identify defects early in the lifecycle.
*Maintain documentation of automation design, test cases, and execution results.
*Collaborate with QA and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality releases.
Required Skills:
*Strong hands-on experience in TestComplete (minimum 3+ years).
*Minimum 5 years overall experience in test automation.
*Proficiency in any scripting language (JavaScript, VBScript, or Python).
*Experience in designing modular, data-driven, and keyword-driven frameworks.
*Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation integration.
*Exposure to API testing and integration with tools like ReadyAPI/Postman is a plus.
*Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
*Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Good to Have:
*Knowledge of BDD tools like Cucumber or Behave.
*Experience in Version Control Systems (Git, Bitbucket).
*Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
