Job Description
We are seeking an Associate Scientist II to join our team supporting Large Molecules/Biologics product development and stability studies under cGMP guidance. The ideal candidate will have experience with biochemical and biophysical analytical techniques and an ability to execute testing, draft simple methods, and report data with accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform cGMP testing for biologics, including compendial assays such as appearance, pH, osmolality, particulate measurements, and viscosity.
- Execute analytical methods using UV-Vis, HPLC/UPLC (SEC, IEX, RP-HPLC, HIC, peptide mapping, glycan analysis), and aggregation techniques (MFI, AUC, SEC-MALS).
- Run capillary and gel electrophoresis methods (CE-SDS, SDS-PAGE, icIEF, IEF, western blot) and support biophysical analyses (FTIR, CD, intrinsic fluorescence, DSC).
- Train on 1-2 methods and perform ad hoc sample testing as required.
- Document work per cGMP requirements with legible, accurate, and thorough records. Draft simple methods, forms, and result reports.
- Operate laboratory equipment safely and in compliance with SOPs and site procedures.
- Apply scientific concepts to routine testing and support quality, safety, and ethical practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Physical Sciences (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry).
- Foundational knowledge of biochemical and analytical principles for biologics testing.
- Ability to follow SOPs and cGMP documentation practices with attention to detail.
- Written and verbal communication skills to interface with internal customers, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Organizational skills with ability to multitask, adapt to schedule needs, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Entry-level role. No prior industry experience required.
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on exposure to HPLC/UPLC, electrophoresis, or biophysical methods in an academic or industrial lab.
- Familiarity with stability studies for large molecules and related data analysis.
