Pay Rate: $28.55/hour
Schedule: Hybrid - Onsite training required, followed by remote work with occasional in-person meetings

Job Overview:A government agency is seeking a Senior Investigator with experience in public assistance eligibility, fraud detection, and protective services. - Investigate cases related to fraud, abuse, and misconduct involving public assistance programs and related services.
- Conduct fieldwork, interviews, surveillance, and evidence collection, including issuing subpoenas and preparing documentation.
- Utilize various online and public resources to gather and verify information.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records to ensure proper evidence handling and chain of custody.
- Draft comprehensive reports outlining facts, findings, and evidence.
- Testify in administrative hearings and legal proceedings as required.
- Refer cases for prosecution and prepare relevant documentation for legal authorities.
- Attend regular meetings, participate in training, and support team investigations as needed.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Experience in investigative practices, especially those related to public assistance or protective services
- Strong analytical, research, and interviewing skills
Preferred Skills:
- Background in criminal investigations
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and case analysis
- Strong written communication and report-writing abilities
- Experience using GIS tools, link analysis software, or investigative databases
- Bilingual abilities are a plus
Abilities & Competencies:
- Perform detailed research and investigative analysis
- Organize and present data logically in written and oral formats
- Manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy
- Communicate effectively and professionally
- Work independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Prior experience in investigations or protective services preferred
- Bilingual proficiency highly desirable
