Transportation Planner-Light Industrial

BCforward is seeking a motivated Transportation Planner for an opportunity in Shoreview, MN.

Title: Transportation Planner
Location: Shoreview, MN 55126
Duration: 10 months with possible extension
Payrate: $25/hr

Description:
We are looking for a skilled Transportation Planner to manage planning/execution of outbound and inbound freight for three of our business divisions. In this role you will partner with internal and external stakeholders such as carrier providers and multiple cross-functional teams to ensure that shipments are delivered in an effective and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:
o Daily shipments coordination for an assigned region within our three business units.
o Collaborate with supply chain partners and external vendor partners to coordinate dry van, refrigerated and LTL shipments.
o Communicate effectively with customer service, warehousing, deployment, and other supply chain operations teams.
o Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and address potential delays proactively.o Conduct problem-solving activities to ensure that issues are addressed quickly and professionally.
o Manage transportation events and enhance carrier utilization to ensure on-time deliveries and customer satisfaction.
o Facilitate all Transportation related activities, such as understanding freight bill payments and assisting Accounts payable in resolution, entering Transportation claims.

Required Experience & Education
o 4-year degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain or Logistics.
o 1+ Years of Logistics experience or related field.
o Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Required Competencies & Other skills
o Familiarity with transportation coordination and other transportation related activities.
o Strong ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and plan daily activities.
o Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make timely decisions under pressure.
o High attention to detail and ability to follow up on tasks diligently.
o Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
o Must be comfortable with conflict management while maintaining strong internal and external relationships.
o Adaptability and flexibility on shifting priorities.
o Experience with TMS systems.

o OTM (a plus)
o FourKites (a plus)
o Sonar
o PowerBI
