Duration: 12 months of contract

Shift: Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM EST

Duties/Responsibilities:

• We have an exciting opportunity for a Bioanalytical Chemist to join the Discovery Metabolomics team in Crop Health Research and Development located in Indianapolis IN.

Responsibilities:

• Execute analytical methods to acquire LC-MS data on microbial fermentation and small molecule samples, including crude extracts, fractions, and semi-pure mixtures.
• Interpret targeted and untargeted LC-MS data for titer analysis of natural products using data analysis software.
• Collaborate with senior scientists to validate new LC-MS and data analysis methods to improve metabolomics performance and accelerate biologicals discovery goals.
• Participate in cross-functional efforts with scientists from microbiology, informatics, and isolation.
• Deliver internal presentations and research reports.

Requirements:

• B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical or Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field.
• Proven experience with high performance liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.
• An understanding of chemistry principles.
• Proactive and collaborative approach, along with effective communication skills.

Preferred:

• Formal training in analytical chemistry, and/or metabolomics.
• Strongly prefer research experience in academic or industrial lab
• Specific experience with Thermo mass spectrometers or HPLCs.
• Specific experience with LCMS data analysis software, molecular networking
• Working knowledge of natural product isolation and fermentation science.
