Senior Java and Cloud Developer
BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Java and Cloud Developer and a hybrid role for Chicago, IL
Position Title: Senior Java and Cloud Developer Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid) Anticipated Start Date: 7th -July-2025 Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date. Expected Duration: 12 months contract to permanent Job Type: [FULL TIME (>%3D40 HRS WEEKLY), [CONTRACT], [Onsite] Pay Range: $45.85/hr - $50.85/hrPlease note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).Job Description:Description - ExternalDigital Technology team designs, develops, and maintains massively scaling technology solutions brought to life with innovative architecture, data analytics, and digital solutions. Job overview and responsibilities:If you have what it takes to bridge the gap between innovation and flawless execution, join our team and help build an industry-leading platforms to transform our customer's journey.You will develop critical frameworks and core business capabilities, as well as, modernize legacy services, in an industry leading 24/7 operation. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing critical software systems and/or applications with a focus on continually improving our customer's journey
- Full stack developer working on critical frameworks, core business capabilities and modernization of legacy services as applications are migrated to the cloud
- Work with AWS native technologies such as EC2, EKS, Lambda, AmazonMQ, API Gateway, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, etc.
- Design and develop advanced applications using JAVA and other open-source technologies
- Work on serverless technologies, services and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes etc.)
- Recommend system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of alternative solutions
- Ensure regulatory compliance requirements are addressed (e.g., PCI, PII, GDPR)
- Demonstrate an innovative mentality by staying aware of new developments within the technology space and identify which new technologies to adapt to provide value to our business.
- Ensure commitments are delivered on time, pass unit testing, meet functional and non-functional requirements
- Support enterprise quality assurance teams
- Work closely with team members in agile development environment where continuous integration and continuous delivery are critical
- Support, maintain, and document software functionality.
- Support development to maximize cloud native adoption
- Size and estimate development efforts. Define and manage development build plans.
- Analyze and refactor code periodically to keep it up to standards
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, other related field or 8 years of equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in application design, development, SDLC lifecycle
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Apache Camel, and other open-source technologies
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Spring Boot
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with eventing
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with foundational AWS Services (such as, EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudTrail, CloudFront, Lambda, EKS, and/or ECS)
- Experience with analytic tools such as ELK Stack, Google Analytics, or AppD
- Experience working with high performance teams in an agile development environment where continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) are critical
- Experience with security principles like OAUTH and SAML
- Demonstrate knowledge of software engineering best practices such as version control, software packaging and software release management
- Must be self-motivated, possess strong communication skills (verbal and written) and be able to work in a team-oriented environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail
- Creative and innovative
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
- AWS Certification
- Airline experience
- Experience with TIBCO
