Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Application Programmer III to join the Enterprise Capital Management technology team supporting regulatory capital reporting under Basel rules for Bank of America entities. The role will perform hands-on development and partner with cross-functional Technology teams to implement target architecture, migrate to a strategic platform, and deliver a stable, scalable, and sustainable capital reporting and analysis solution.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and enhance applications for Basel regulatory capital calculations and reporting.
• Implement data sourcing, transformation, and business logic for risk-weighted assets and capital ratios.
• Optimize performance for data-intensive workloads, including profiling, tuning, and memory optimization.
• Collaborate with agile teams across architecture, data, and platform domains to deliver target-state capabilities and migrations.
• Create unit tests and test doubles, and support SDLC processes and quality gates.
• Contribute to large-scale enterprise application implementations with secure, resilient, and maintainable code.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline.
• 8+ years of Python development experience.
• 7+ years of SQL programming, preferably with Oracle Exadata.
• 5+ years of UNIX scripting and experience with unit test mock frameworks.
• Experience with agile methodologies and full SDLC processes.
• Knowledge of performance tuning for data-intensive applications, including profiling and memory optimization.
• Strong coding, debugging, and analytical skills with enterprise-scale delivery experience.
• 10+ years of applicable professional experience.

Preferred Skills:

• 2+ years of Java development.
• Experience with Quartz (internal bank platform) or similar scheduling frameworks.
• Programming experience with Hadoop or distributed big data ecosystems.
• Knowledge of cloud or distributed computing environments.
• Background in capital calculations and Basel regulatory frameworks.
• Degree from a highly regarded university.
